Making Astrology Work for You - The Moon

Astrology is the language of symbols just as a flag is a symbol of a country. The reality - it's a piece of cloth with a design but 1,000's have died for what it symbolises. Same is true with the planets. The reality - they are nothing more than lumps of rock or gaseous masses swirling around our solar The planets (Sun and Moon are referred to as planets for ease of reference) don't send beams of energy to your brain or anywhere else although we do feel the heat of the sun! Most people know their Sun/Astrological Sign - if you don't - where have you been? Personally, if you only ever come to understand and use the Moon in Astrology you are going a long, long way to understanding this Art/Science. There are no 'magic bullets' no miracles; the Universe helps those who help themselves.

Because the Moon moves so fast (spending only a couple of days in a sign/house) what you're about to read you might not 'feel' or 'see' therefore I ask you to explore the technique of calculating your Progressed Moon where it stays in a sign/house for approx two and half years (a day for a year). To give you an example, my progressed Moon is in Aquarius and my 3rd House...

Moon into the 1st fast moving (lasting only a few days) yet, when conjunct any planet (s) will bring 'something' to the surface (depending on the planet involved). The Moon represents your emotional response to the moment; it'll also increase/decrease your vitality! For example when the Moon conjuncts Mercury you'll tend to think 'in pictures' meaning it's time visualise what you want from the year ahead. The most powerful Moon in this position is the New Moon (happening not long after the Sun enters your 1st) plan for this moment and focus accordingly. It's also to your advantage to be aware of the Full Moon taking place in your opposite sign...

Transiting Moon into the 2nd keeping in mind the Moon transits this (and every) sector very quickly so take notice of any New Moon in this house. Emotional security is one of your greatest needs during this time work towards finding it. Sexually, a good imagination creates an interesting sex life so give your imagination a little rein. What you feel, you feel, and no one can change it...

Transiting Moon into the 3rd you'll have quick and perceptive feelings, 'picking up' on situations and reacting to the atmosphere. As always it's the New Moon in the 3rd that 'plants the seeds' of this information. The world of ideas is one that will give you much emotional stimulation for the unique thing about this time is your ability to think 'in pictures'. It's important you to have some element of intellectual trade between you and your environment. Keeping in mind, the ancients gave the Moon as being associated with the Mind! Explore this concept when you have the time - time management is a buzz phrase for this period so make sure if you have an important appointment to arrive early rather than late - it's all in the impression you create...

Transiting Moon into the 4th one or both parents will enter your thinking or be a part of your life at this time for there's always a strong sense of 'family' when the Moon transits the 4th Interestingly, changes of residence or a re-building of your life in some way is indicated, particularly if a New Moon or your Progressed Moon takes place or enters this sector, - don't over - emotionalise the past, for it has led you to where you are at the moment.

Transiting Moon into the 5th you'll feel at one with yourself - your feelings, personal relationships and your romantic life will all demand your attention at this time. Keeping in mind the Moon moves very quickly through this sector - plan for the New Moon to create all of the above. On a negative level you might be subject to frequently fluctuating moods that'll pretty much rule or ruin your daily life - get enough sleep and don't burn the candle at both ends!

Transiting Moon into the 6th service to others is a fine outlet for your personality during this transit or if there's a New Moon taking place in your 6th. Volunteer work, Charity work, community concerns are all positive expressions of this transit. Negatively: moodiness and sensitivity can be a problem with fluctuations in health a possibility mostly due to worry and feelings of insecurity. Look after your diet try not to eat when overworked, overtired, or when you are upset - health is a priority. Concerning employment: If there's a Progressed Moon taking place here you'll find everything mentioned and more taking place and become totally absorbed with work, becoming a workaholic! Yet, many job changes are possible...

Transiting Moon into the 7th possessing an appreciation of all things beautiful - pleasing to the eye, you'll thrive on being surrounded by people and objects which gratify your sense of aesthetics. Many things in this world are physically desirable just guard against any tendency to drift from one desire to another. Interestingly, you'll tire of liaisons quickly if you feel there's not the same show of affection coming from your other half! With the moon transiting this area it has a Full Moon 'feel' about it and we all know how crazy things become at the Full Moon...

Transiting Moon into the 8th keeping in mind it's the New Moon in the house that creates a longer lasting effect. For the moment life is not a game it's deadly serious and at times you'll feel as though nothing exists, and nothing is born - lost in a sea of darkness. There'll be a nagging feeling you want to end something! Remembering, this is the house of death and re-birth. During these few days don't let your imagination run riot!

Transiting Moon into 9th this is a time for some 'comedy' in your life; time to be a 'clown' for a day or two. Increased interest in issues like religion, and philosophies which contain an ingredient of hope! Remembering, it's the New Moon in this sector that plants the seeds of the future, prepare for this time. If you're Progressed Moon enters this sector you have a very fortunate couple of years to come, plan for them...

Transiting Moon into the 10th (Pay particular attention when there's a New Moon in the 10th) When the Moon enters your 10th it's important that you feel or create some structure to your emotional life, applying your feelings to people and causes in an organised and constructive manner. This is a time to think with your head and not your heart for this is the house of business. Be seen as confident and self-assured for your 'public image' is on display.

Transiting Moon into the 11th emotionally, you'll become more of a live wire, constantly on edge and over-reactive to people and situations. This is a couple of days where you might want to give to or become involved with charity/volunteering organisations. Think of your life like a television - if the picture starts playing up, take a rest from personal involvements until you come back fully restored...

Transiting Moon into the 12th this transit (more importantly when the new moon falls in this sector) is where still water's run deep. During this transit (or new moon) find yourself a haven, away from the humdrum where things can pass over and around you, preserving and building our emotional resilience and strength. Don't escape into the world of drugs and alcohol with the excuse you're trying to find your Inner Self...

Numerology and Astrology have been my life and passion for over 30 years. I've been published numerous times and still have something new to offer each time I hit the keyboard - who wants to read the same old same old? I believe if you have a philosophy and no one knows about it, it doesn't mean anything. If you have an idea or insight and tell no one - it's meaningless.

I use the Tarot as a tool for helping me answer questions - resolve issues and to focus my attention on what's really important. Allow me to share this tool with you in a simple - uncomplicated and without 'jargon' to bring about the success you seek.

I look forward to the journey we'll make together
